Covid-Safety Policy for Mobile/Home Customers (see below for salon clients)

Dear Client

I hope you and your loved ones have been well during this time.

Your and my safety is important, so the following information is important to be aware of for my visit to your home. Please cancel your appointment with me if you or members of your household have any of the following covid-like symptoms. Please do this as soon as possible so that I can fill the space with another client.

  • A new persistent cough
  • A high temperature
  • A change in ability to taste or smell

I will likewise do the same if I or a member of my household develop symptoms.

On arrival at your home, I will

  • Wash my hands with soap
  • Wear a face covering
  • Not need any drinks, thanks, as I’ll bring my own.

During the service, I will:

  • Be wearing a face covering and visor as per regulations
  • Require you to wear a face covering, either your own or one supplied by me
  • Need the working area to be ventilated and limit the presence of other people around.
  • Need to be paid with card only – sorry but no cash accepted at the moment.

It will be easiest if you have clean hair (shampooed that morning) styled in your usual way. Then we can have a consultation, I will likely dampen the hair down and cut, then dry off.

If you need to cancel or change your appointment time for reasons other than covid-like symptoms, please do so with regard for my schedule – suddenly empty slots are difficult to fill. At least 48 hours’ notice is needed unless you have Covid symptoms, in which case please let me know as soon as you can.

You can be assured that all hairdressing tools are being sterilised in between household visits and all gowns washed at 60 degrees.

If I become unwell with covid soon after your appointment, I will have to provide the identified, government track-and-trace service with your details so they can contact you.

Covid-Safety Policy for Salon Customers

Dear Client

I hope you and your family have been well during this time. I will be very happy to see you in the salon again!

Your safety and the safety of everyone who visits the salon is important, so the following information is important to be aware of for your visit.

  1. We are not permitted to have anyone wait inside the salon, so I will have to request that you wait outside or the cafe next door.
  2. Wearing of face coverings will be required inside the salon so either I can issue you with a single use face covering, or you can wear your own if you are having a haircut only. Clients who are having colour will be issued with a disposable face covering.
  3. I will be wearing a face covering and face shield (for the haircut). Yes, I look strange, but it is all for your and my safety!
  4. If I develop any Covid symptoms, or I am requested to self-isolate due to contacts, I will have to cancel your appointment and will do so as soon as possible. I request that you please cancel your slot if you or any of your household have Covid symptoms.
  5. Each client will be provided with a clean gown which is laundered at 60 degrees afterwards.
  6. On entering the salon, you will be provided with alcohol hand gel to sanitise your hands.
  7. Payment needs to be with card only – sorry but no cash accepted.
  8. Due to the cost of PPE and the time needed in between clients for extra cleaning, there has been a small increase of £5 – £10 on the bill, depending on the length of service you need. I appreciate your understanding of my commitment to your safety and giving you hair that you love!
  9. If you have short hair, please come with clean hair (shampooed that morning) because I will probably dampen down and cut, then wash afterwards to avoid multiple trips to the basin.
  10. If you usually have colour on your hair, please be aware that my insurance requires me to skin allergy test you if you have or may have tint on the skin, due to amount of time we have been in lockdown. I have a patch test which is easy to do and I can post it out to you. Please do this at least 48 hours before your appointment otherwise we will be limited to foils only.
  11. No magazines can be provided so feel free to bring your own book/reading matter.
  12. Hot drinks can be served, and we have some great coffee, teas and water.
  13. Due to high demand, I need at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations, otherwise it is hard to fill the spot, and I lose money, because there is still rent to pay for the salon space. Please bear this in mind and if you have to cancel, do this as soon as possible.
